Ready to start conquering clutter in your home?

The 30-Day Declutter Challenge is designed to help you quickly rotate through the commonly-cluttered spaces in your home, and get rid of things that you don’t use or need. You can decide to spend just 10-minutes a day decluttering, or keep working on a space until it’s done. The goal isn’t to have everything perfectly decluttered, but to remove that “first layer” of clutter that’s easier to get rid of.
How to Declutter
Decluttering can seem like a daunting task, but with the right approach, it can be a breeze. Here are the steps to follow:
- Empty the area you’re going to declutter and put it somewhere else: This will give you a clear space to work with and help you focus on what you’re getting rid of.
- Only empty out what you can reasonably go through in your allotted time: Don’t try to declutter an entire room in one day. Focus on one area at a time and take breaks as needed.
- Get rid of trash and clean out the space: Remove any trash, broken items, or expired food and clean the area thoroughly.
- Fill a bag or box with things to donate: Set aside items that are still in good condition and can be donated to charity.
- Put away things that belong somewhere else in your home: Once you’ve decluttered an area, put away any items that belong in other parts of your home.
- Put remaining items back into the space: Once you’ve decluttered an area, put back any items that you’re keeping.
- Make notes about how you might like to better organize the space you just decluttered: Take a moment to think about how you can better organize the space and make notes for future reference.

Decluttering Tips
- Make decluttering easier by being prepared: Before you begin decluttering, make sure you have the necessary supplies, such as bags, boxes, and a basket for items to donate.
- Listen to something fun: Decluttering can be a tedious task, but listening to music, a favorite show, or a podcast can make the experience more enjoyable.
- Stay hydrated: Keep a glass of water nearby to keep you cool and hydrated as you work.
What to Do with Decluttered Items
Once you’ve decluttered an area, you’ll need to decide what to do with the items you’ve removed. Here are a few options:
- Donate: Set aside items that are still in good condition and can be donated to charity.
- Sell: Consider selling items that are still in good condition but no longer needed.
- Recycle: Recycle items that can be recycled, such as paper, plastic, and glass.
